Hi

Can anyone recommend a garage/mechanic in the Bedfordshire area they have used to change a cambelt/water pump on a fiat ducato based motor home (2013 150BHP). Over the 5 year expiry date now so time to bite the bullet

Thanks in advance

If you get up to Weedon area junct 17 I think. Corporate Service Solutions at Weedin Beck, they service for Heart Of England motorhomes. Paul and Martin are superb to deal with, did mine just before we went off to France for a few weeks

Remember that the mechanical part of your van is exactly the same as a commercial vehicle, so any good commercial vehicle service/repair company should be fine. Don't limit yourself to motorhome dealers, who tend to be on the expensive side.

I have a suspicion (based upon visiting dealers' premises) that some dealers offering repairs and servicing do not have adequate workshop facilities and merely sub out base vehicle work to a motor garage then add their cut to their charge when they produce your bill.
For one thing few dealers have a vehicle lift at all, or one that could handle a vehicle the size/weight of our motorhomes.

Try searching for a truck/van commercial garage in your area that are Fiat/Iveco.
We use North East Truck and Van in our area, they are a Fiat Professional/Iveco/MAN Commercial dealer. Much cheaper and more knowledgable than any Motorhome dealer could ever be.
They also have the correct lifting capacity should it be required. With our first motorhome we used the nearest which was a car dealer, then found out they sent it to the commercial dealer because their ramps weren’t big enough.
How many belts will have been changed by the motorhome dealers mechanics, compared with the commercial garage?

Look in your handbook. There should be a list of Fiat approved dealerships to carry out the work. If not call Fiat Customer service for advice. I have found them to be very good and did not have to hang on the phone line for them to answer.
