Has anyone heard when calor gas might be available to those of us without a bottle to change? Our local Morrisons gas cages are full t'brim but I can't get any because I haven't got an empty cylinder to swap.

It even made the local news down here at the 'Pointy end'

Apparently, a lady down here bought a mobile gas heater and couldn't get a bottle to go with it.

Have you tried gumtree/ebay local council recycling centre for an empty one?

there are plenty of empties up for sale all over the country. A few months back people were asking silly money, but not now. Look on the facebook selling group for your town or area

Before we had the Refillable System fitted in mid July, we were told by 2 or 3 Suppliers that the Bottle Shortage meant that swapping of cylinders for a different size was not allowed

That’s correct. You can swap within certain categories. For example Calor 6, 7, & I think 3.5 kg butting or propane can be swapped including the Lite bottles. You cannot do the 13 to 6 swap

Round here they won’t let you swap 7kg butane for 6kg propane even though Calor say you should be able to do so. I bought a couple of sh propane bottles in the end as it was easier than arguing the point and getting nowhere.

I bought one from South Lytchett Manor Caravan and Camping Park in Dorset 2 months ago, they had 6KG and 13KG for sale

6KG bottles are like hen's teeth at the moment. I managed to get three empty ones at £40 each after some over enthusiastic bidding on eBay. If Calor had any, they'd charge you £39.90. Sold two of mine at £40.

They are now being advertised at as much as £60 empty, but there are some more sensibly priced ones, assuming they're within collection range.

Got one second hand on Ebay. Had to search for one near enough to us but got it. It was a bit rusty but easily exchanged it for a full one at out local supplier.
