enough to know i shouldnt touch things i know nothing about ....
Starting to plan our route from Calais down to Spain and eventually down to visit Gibraltar - its a route we havent taken before, or been through Spain in our motorhome. we have around five weeks in total and dont mind doing a couple of longer drives every few days on the way and slowly coming back up along the West coast of France, which we know pretty well. We are not into hiking etc or walking for miles, we have electric bikes and happy to cycle into towns etc.

Overnights - Happy to consider any recommendations, Aires etc. We have Acsii, P4N, S4S but a good recommendation is better than hit and miss.
Driving - Which route avoids mountain passes, etc, prefer to drive along major routes, unless the mountain passes are the major routes of course
Stopovers and visiting (both in Spain and possibly Portugal)- is there anywhere we MUST take the time to visit, stopping over if necessary?

Thanks

We have used the A66 a few times down to Tarifa- using the Autopistas from France and then to Burgos. We’ve met snow at Burgos but the roads are cleared very quickly.
We tend to wild camp on route but these are a few of the stop overs we’ve used
Torquemada- lovely village Aire top of village by the church ( bit spoilt fir me by typical Spanish dog barking!)
Duenas -another convenient Aire just off the A62

Our favourite wild stop Embalsa Santa Teresa DSA 135 either in the car park or across the dam road

We have used Monasterio Aire - lovely town

We usually go straight down - often think of stopping off at some of the towns which come recommended by people on here but haven’t yet!

Of yes- we did Salamanca in the rain - that’s a city well worth. A day or two!
And Seville is my favourite city but we’ve not done that in the motorhome though many have

Do you have what three words or coordinates for the stopovers please? Thanks

Just my opinion, I've tried this it isn't as good as Search for Sites.
