Anyone of you Knowledgeable Folk use the below 40 cm cadac Grill from your external motorhome feed [ Gasit refillable bottles] ? Guy instore mentioned potential food taint and burner blackening if using propane on the smaller unit versus 50 cm plate ...
Your personal experiences and advice much appreciated as always before we commit to purchasing.... IMG-20240527-WA0001.jpg

Hope.. he talkn rubbish.
Cadac Safari Chef... no food taint... no burner blacking..
However intrigued how a smaller unit more affected than a larger unit..
Also use to have a large family size Cadac, again none of the above..

Cadacs are great pieces of kit. As with any BBQ, the PITA is cleaning the damn things (and avoiding red chicken and black bangers). Go for it!

Top tip , mix 50/50 olive oil and white wine vinegar in a small spray bottle - spray cadac grill when hot - no stick at all - or you can spray your food doesn’t matter which

Which part do you have trouble cleaning?

Just be aware the regulator used on the high pressure small LPG bottles that screw into the base are not the same as the as the regulator used on the larger Low pressure bottles
Info here

As said many times on here... don't go anywhere near a Cadac plate with soapy water... Rather, when hot, spray with oil and wipe with cloth and all yuk will slide off.. if not you already damaged the none stick coating.. Always oil plate before each and every use..and stow with a smear of oil..
Yes I know Cadac say you can wash and even put in dishwasher..... they also sell replacement plates???

We use the oven liner sheet stuff when using the solid grill plate … no messing! Just wash that with soapy water

It must be my, honey, soy, spice-mixture glaze that gums up the works. Particularly with duck fat.
Doesn't half taste good though and worth half an hour with a jack-hammer to clean up. (irony)
But I'll certainly try the spray with oil suggestion, with and without vinegar.
Mind you, we've had it a good few years and it's done many hundreds of meals, mostly when we were on the boat.
Perhaps it's time for a clean one.

Clean? BBQ?

Why do you think they get so hot!

Best clean we had was some badgers who licked the whole thing back to new.

Never mentioned it to 'anyone' else..

Half inch of water in the bottom section under the bbq grill plate works wonders when having to clean. Empty the water and wipe out.
