I have just bought a new pair of cable cutters which I am very impressed with especially at the price. Definitely VFM! Best I have come across and they cut through 16mm2 no problem.

i use my little makita battery operated disc cutter, it slices through anything and doesnt separate the cable strands, so it makes it easy to get them into the lugs !

You're avatar says you're Cumbrian so just use your teeth ya lightweight :ROFLMAO:
I have only lived in Cumbria for 12yrs so Im not a local yet ! Im really a soft southerner from the Midlands ! Not as soft as real southerners though!

I use Klein ratchet cutters, I've had the same pair for probably 20 years and they never fail. 120mm HD Cu no bother.

I have a Japanese cable cutter will post a picture of it, you would think security cables are made from butter it is an impressive peace of kit.

..... and next week, "how to fence a stolen bike" .....
😆 actually the reverse is true I use mine to cut cables to make security cables I have a hydrolic press and collets which again is quite impressive. But it just makes you aware steel cables are pretty useless for security. It just deters an opportunistic theft.

I don't have the gear, but when doing theatrical work and needing to "fly" heavy items, the local lift engineers would make me up steels for the purpose then test them. Fascinating to watch.
