Cabin door lock

We've bought a 2004 Autotrail Cheyenne 630 with rear cabin door/kitchen. The cabin door lock FAP M1 Type 2 won't lock/unlock on the key but works ok from the inside. Will I need to replace the complete assembly with new barrel and keys, or is there something else I could try?

I would rake the door panel off and have a look sometimes broken spring will fix it as I have a later autotrail and the spring had broken on mine. There are a couple of threads with pics on here somewhere.
