That is a DIY bodge. There is no way the seller didn’t know about it!
Looks like a problem that has been bodged. seller must have known about it.
With a private sale a seller must declare known faults. I would demand your money back as it could cost thousands to repair properly. If seller doesn't play ball take it to small claims court.
To be fair, until the external fascia above the windscreen was removed, no one (seller or buyer) would have been able to see the expanding foam fix. That is a DIY bodge. There is no way the seller didn’t know about it!
However, if it was a private sale as opposed to a dealer, you have almost zero rights.
Whilst it’s illegal to misrepresent, if you don’t ask the right questions, he/she doesn’t have to declare faults. It’s very much ‘caveat emptor’.
If, on the other hand, it was a trader/dealer, I’d be looking at my consumer rights regarding mis-selling…. That said, once I saw the expanding foam in the joint, i’d have run away, regardless of whether it was a ‘bargain’!
What are my rights when buying second-hand goods? - Which?
If your second-hand goods aren’t good enough, you could be entitled to a refund. But it depends on if you bought your items from a retailer or an individual.www.which.co.uk
Yep,the same company o think, so you know how they sorted it maybe? Other than this it's in a very good condition for its ageSorry to hear of your woes, hope you can get it sorted
That’s the 2nd time I’ve heard of that happening - the last one was a Geist Motorhome which I’m sure is also part of LMC
That I'm going to report him to HMRC? I'll try whatever needed cause I feel like an idiot now. I'm out of the country for 2 weeks, told him that Im giving him 2 weeks to come up with a solution.Have you contacted the seller to reject it ?
If you believe them to be a trader operating as though they are a private seller is illegal, dropping this into the conversation when requesting a full refund may help things to work in your favour ?
Good luck
From Ireland...........the thing I'll get from there is Guinness!Yep, he sold another motorhome while I was there, and took my rust bucket as part exchange. So you say to report him to HMRC and then go for small claim court?
He is in Northern Ireland, and I imported it to Ireland
Brookeborough, MotorhomesJust to inform everybody that the man is Michael Slattery, and the company is Brookeborough motorhomes, Enniskillen. So beware. Still no response
Can Google reviews be trusted? I note Michael Slattery himself has a left a review on his own business!! . The others there aren’t very positive!Just to inform everybody that the man is Michael Slattery, and the company is Brookeborough motorhomes, Enniskillen. So beware. Still no response
If you’re intending claiming against the seller, leave well alone!Hello everybody, it's me again I don't know should I start another thread or what, but I want to know how to remove this part, as the sound is coming from there and I think there are probably screws underneath that got broken or loosen up and that is the problem. I think I'm going to small court and tax man solution wit the seller. He's definitely a trader, so I should hopefully get sorted thru this. Untill then I decided to try see what's going on by myself

I already fixed a lot of stuff, I'll just ask for a compensation, not giving it back.If you’re intending claiming against the seller, leave well alone!
Things got complicated and I fixed a lot of stuff already as I live in it, so I'll just ask for a compensation for repairs. If that can be done like thatNot sure I understand, are there things you want to fix ?
If you're claiming against the seller you might be better leaving well alone until it's sorted out one way or the other ?
What do you want to remove ?but I want to know how to remove this part, as the sound is coming from there and I think there are probably screws underneath that got broken or loosen up and that is the problem
As I said above I already fixed some stuff as I live in it, and now want to try to see what's going on there, so I can try to fix or just to know what's going on and what needs to be done when I take it to repair. So no more claim posts, I'm interested what is this part called and how can I remove it, thanksWhat do you want to remove ?
Fettling with the vehicle will severely affect any compensation claim you make, the seller will simply say it's not in the same condition it was sold in and you have created any problems
It was pretty clear what you were asking.
It's not in one piece as I can see the seams and I think I can see some screws that are holding it from the door frame when I look underneath as it's hollow. Hope you understand, as English is not my primary language I'll try take some closer pictures on Saturday probablyIt was pretty clear what you were asking.
Looks to be part of the moulding and not removable. Do you have a closer pic?
