I notice that after about 4000 miles the cab carpet in my new MoHo is a little (ok a lot) grotty, I have ordered a new one. It is a very pale beige carpet, no matter how one try’s, there is no way when climbing in and out of your cab in a field or in lay-bys or by the roadside, that the cab carpet will stay as good as the habitation carpet has done. So what do you think, should I get a rubber cab carpet or a black or dark grey one. They are not expensive, your thoughts please..

Get a pink one,it’ll match your avatar

Don’t you dare give my pretty flamingo any bright ideas like that, it’s bad enough her buying me a pink tie, then a T-shirt, then shorts, I quickly gave them all to the homeless shop door dweller in town, “here mate some new kegs for ya, keep ya warm, ignore the colour”,
No I want sensible suggestions… mmmm I’m on motorhomefun, little chance of that! OK throw everything at me, I did ask!

We swapped to a black one in a previous van, that helped.

Our previous motorhome bought from new was on a Peugeot boxer. One of the first things we did was to remove the cab carpet. I ordered an OEM rubber cab mat from Peugeot. More expensive than generic ones I’d seen online but good quality heavy rubber and it fit well. When we traded the motorhome in for our latest Moho (this one on a Fiat Ducati chassis) the rubber mat was transferred to the new motorhome. The rubber mat is now 8 years old and still looking tidy.
I could never see the point of cab carpets for the problem you have mentioned about trying to keep them clean.

I have a Cabrio with a full beige cloth interior ( I know, but it was a good price and had done 24k km in 12 years), I hate rubber
mats so I got one of these...

Look these people up.
Carmats-uk.
Part of the Premier products group and made in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
Made my bespoke cab carpet for our fiat ducato 3 years ago and it's still in very good condition.
They make all sorts of fitted carpets , or loose, to order as well as rubber and chequer-plate type linoleum mats.
Worth a look.
PS: they also make the mats for a lot of the other sites on offer under contract, so go direct to the manufacturer.

The swivel seats have to be used when wet or muddy. Sit down, feet up and swivel round till you can put your filthy footwear down on to a foot mat.
