Hi Guys
Your help again please. I have a Fiat Ducato based MH fitted with Remis Remifront Concertina blinds. I also have the desire to fit a Dashcam. However, wherever I have attempted to fit the camera, it prevents the cab screens from closed at night. Has anybody else encountered this issue and if so, what was your workaround?
I would be very interested on your comments

Our interior mirror (which was surplus anyway!) got knocked off the windscreen and rather than fix it back on I did this instead.

It's hard-wired into the fusebox at the drivers right knee. You do have to remove the cable from the mount but that, plus realigning the camera, only takes seconds.
Having said that, we've usually got our external screens on and, therefore, don't close the Reims blinds.

I had the same conundrum...

Tried attaching it to the top of the dash but the vibration was beyond belief. Kept setting the shock sensor off and locking every recording :D2

Even tried disabling it but the footage was unbearably shaky when watching it back.

In the end, with careful measuring, I found a gap not far up the windscreen that allows the blinds to still close.

With a caveat, you'll need to unclip the camera at night. That's all though, it takes about a second :)

I tried mounting mine in a few places to avoid the blinds but found that I had to remove the camera which became a right PITA. In the end, I found that I could mount it at the bottom of the screen and blinds missed it

Mounted ours on a sticky backed mount, took out the top glove box to feed the the power through and then hardwired it in via the fuse box.
The dashcam stays in situ when the blinds are closed.

Mirror dashcam, permanently wired.

You can invert the image being viewed in the camera menu.

Thanks for that.

Ive got a next base but a different model.
I’ll have to check if I can do that to mine.

Mine's similar to Gellyneck 's, although I don't have an image at the moment.

I drilled the cap that fits over the rear mirror mount on the windscreen glass and fastened the dashcam mount to it. The mount is long and thin enough that it allows the blinds to close around it through the section intended for the mirror arm, and the power cable goes up behind the roof lining above and behind the runner for the blinds as it's hardwired to the vehicle, so I don't have to disturb the dashcam or cable at all to open or close the blinds.

We take ours off the screen mount each evening but I like the idea of a central mount......have to check if I can invert the image......but then maybe it's just as easy to take it off at night.

Sometime avoiding the hassle is just not worth the hassle.

Hmm have I just found a new signature quote ???????????

I leave the camera in position and then use an elastic band to hold the 2 parts of the blinds together. It just leaves a very small gap where the stalk for the camera does

Great, I will see if I can do that
