C&CC Temporary Holiday Sites

I wouldn't blame either club for wanting to fill their own sites first. They are clubs but have to be run as a business or they close. If they do not make a profit, how do they improve the sites or adequately maintain them.
I was hoping to stay at one of Wells THS so hope it opens, school budgets rely on outside income so hopefully will still be happy to allow use of their grounds.

Dont know if you see my reply on here earlier but Norfolk and Suffolk DA,all things being well ,are still intending to run our THS at Wells this year but wont be opening till the beginning of August with if they can get permission from the school. But I'm not sure in you know but the Carnival has been cancelled along with Cromers this year.
Up the spurs lol

A THS is a temporary holiday site, set up and run by members of the Camping and Caravan Club. They run them in various areas but tend to be no facility sites.

They have fresh water tap and elsan point. and most lovely marshall's and are sensibly priced.
There are a few if at sports grounds or schools where you are allowed to use the showers,

We like to stay on C@CC Temporary Holiday Sites because they are in some lovely places and they are (usually) a reasonable price.

My wife has just phoned to book one that was due to start in July only to be told that the C&CC have cancelled all July THSs.

This is apparently not due to government restrictions, it’s just that C&CC want to make sure their expensive sites are full first - basically a way of making a few extra quid.

Paul
So who said that they (CC&C) want to make sure their expensive sites are full first? Or is that what someone is assuming more likely.

It was the booking contact for the THS.
It was the booking contact for the THS.
In other words the THS booking contact has assumed this to be the reason, which is probably nonsense, they have suspended THS holiday sites no doubt until the Govt. Say campsites can open, and I'm no fan of expensive club sites.

From our experience organising group hotel breaks for another large club, who have cancelled all group activities (also including camping rallies run by volunteers) until at least September, such large organisations can't be seen to encourage gathering in any way from a legal as well as the ethical point of view of not putting members at any risk. Would imagine that might be also apply to C&CC THS especially if organised & run by volunteer members. If the THS contact has put a lot of work into organising & planned to attend the THS mentioned they may be unhappy with this especially if the company reasons for cancelling haven't been made clear. With the demand that it is reported that there will be for campsites once open it is unlikely that C&CC will struggle to fill them.
Well said.

Could someone please explain to me how people who claim to be full time wiilders achieve the following:

Dispose of grey waste
Dispose of Black waste
dispose of general rubbish
Obtain a water supply
Charge batteries

All of the above facilities have to be provided, maybe not power to charge batteries, by someone at a cost, or do they expect them all to be free.
Time to get the popcorn out methinks, this could be a long haul.

We were due to go on a THS at Llangollen on the 3rd of July with the North Wales DA and I've just checked their webpage and right enough all the July meets are cancelled
Neil,
Unlike England we who live in Wales are still in lockdown at present & only allowed to travel locally for shopping etc so I'm not surprised the THS at Llangollen isn't happening.

Cheers Clive
