Most likely cheaper abroad but there are a lot of variables, don't forget that you would have to pay UK VAT and then claim back what you paid over the water, for example Germany id 19% and we are 20% so the van costs you 1% more than the screen price straight away, you will be paying in € so a lot depends on the exchange rate you can get.

It’s way too general a question as it will be, as everything in life, model and manufacturer specific which determines the quality.

IMHO, the cheap end of the continental leisure vehicle market seems like VERY sparten low cost builds, designed as sleeping quarters for large family groups.

Then there are the high end continental manufacturers like Concorde, Morello etc which are high end…

It’s just a personal choice thing, as opposed to being able to say generally that continental vehicles are better and provide more VFM.

you often see with some european makes when being sold in the UK that they have a "UK pack" added to them. This implies that some things UK buyers often expect to be standard, are not. I believe one typical example is an oven.

So as has been said you have to ensure you are comparing like for like.

Many people believe the German manufacturered vans are of a better quality than their UK counterparts.

It all depends on what you want in a van. I believe Lenny HB has bought his last couple of vans direct from european based dealers.

Our van is exactly the same spec whether it is purchased in the UK or abroad, but as I intimated before the price is a variable but would usually be higher in the UK so you could argue that the spec would be lower £ for £.

Moved from a British built to a Carado - best decision we have ever made! We had a page of faults for the first service with the British built. One item for the Carado

If you bought a mh abroad and drove into UK how do they know your importing or just visiting?

Imported mine new from Germany in October 2020 and the cash saved is still paying for our trips away and will still be for another couple of years no doubt😁😁
Spec wise mine is no different than UK vans as you have to add and pay for any options you want.

Probably they would not know as you would have foreign plates but you could not insure or tax it until it’s registered with DVLA and before that you need to pay import tax

The standard spec of my last van bought in the UK was far higher than its European equivalent, even though it was built in the EU.
