What are the bad points to look for on a 2018 Elddis Evolution 196

Check for damp! Look at previous Hab. checks…….

Our 2019 155 had a damp issue along the rear above the bumper- 3-year old ‘van so repaired under warranty.
Check how much of the Elddis 10-year warranty might be transferred to you if you buy…….

Well…..possibly…..but I’m pretty sure that all makes of ‘van have/can have damp issues….? ;)

edit: but the fact that Elddis still use wood in the sidewall construction doesn’t help……. :(

After spending a great deal of money, one hopes that the standard of build will reflect your expense. However, to remain at the comparatively least expensive end of the market, I assume some corners may have been cut. After the Swift debacle with damp and like many other builders since, they now advertise that no wood is now used in the Swifts construction. I did not realise that Elddis had continued using wood which most vans have used in the past without issues.

Got rid of our Elddies Autoquest 140 (2008) recently
It had damp to the tune of c£1,800...potentially caused by the most minute crack in the nearside roof seal....the damp-o-meter read in the 40's at the worst part on that side!
Check all seals on the roof, Inc those around skylights, air con, etc

Also, check your gas locker....ours fell through with the non connected cylinder (that was tied up) bouncing down the road behind us!
Apparently, we're not the first (Unsure what makes others had the same issue with) but the hab guy said how poorly fixed the floor was
