On arriving at Neuss Camping it transpired that I had purchased a new Motorhome … which was rather exciting !

Quick trip to the registration office to get some Export plates made up and then set off on the 800 mile journey home.

Long drive up through Germany

First stop over,

and on to the boat at Hook of Holland …

Now at Cambridge Services . No questions at Customs.

UK registration process starts Monday.

I’ll do a thread on the import process and paperwork and an another on how I get in with it.

So far I can report it’s amazingly car like to drive and it gets down road quicker than you’d expect for the size and height of it. I ended up doing 2000km / 1250 miles on the way home and it averaged 27.5 mpg.

Hi Abgs - did you do a thread on the import and paperwork process? This would be very helpful as we’re going to Germany next week to bring back a new Adria van and just been reading some of your posts with interest!

We have managed to insure the van fully comp from Germany to home on the VIN plate (with Caravanguard). We have it booked into garage for UK conformity check, then intend to register with DVLA and do the process ourselves. Any step by step info would be extremely helpful! It feels like a baptism of fire but nothing ventured, nothing gained!! Thanks, Sarah
