Hi All,
Does anyone have details they could let me have of the core wiring colours that Burstner use on their recent models? The satellite feeds (not used) in the top left hand corner of the third picture get two of them out of the way and I'm guessing the plug not connected could be for a 'satellite' power feed. There is a cable with SAT printed on it connected to terminals 1 and 2. I've probed the various terminals with my multi-meter and I could not detect a voltage on any of the wires. The vans main 12V and 220v circuits are both live.
At the battery end, The 'E-Block' helpfully is not fully labelled plus its fitted in such a way as I can't get to the rear to see which cable goes to the individual fuses
Before I go full Sherlock Holmes on the van, could any of you throw a little light on the wiring colours? Fingers firmly crossed.
happy travels guys.
Graham

If you can make any more of it I would appreciate the heads up

I emailed Burstner requesting a more detailed wiring diagram about 3 weeks ago, but they refused to do so, citing 'intellectual copyright and support of our Partners [i.e. Dealers] who will be able to assist you'.The Dealer/Supported Partner's suggestion was to remove the offending fuse ...

Hi Steve,
My dealer is about as much use as a chocolate teapot. My first thought was to contact them and it was obvious from the off that all they wanted to do was protect their income.
Anyone with legal knowledge know how I could lever the right to repair to get the information.

Hi Alex,
Not sure what happened to your attachment but could you have a go at reposting it please? I'd be very interested to see what you have.
Cheers,
Graham

Hi Graham,
I don't think there is any practical leverage. If Burstner won't make the information available, and they have copyrighted it/claimed intellectual property rights/not even published it [most effective of all?], then we're all gubbed. I found a thread indicating that my parasitic drain could be coming from the multimedia unit, and the auto electrician then patiently checked every wiring loom before he established that the rear camera and multimedia unit hadbeen cross wired back in 2016 when new! The previous owner looks to have either had a winter EHU connection or disconnected the battery, because there was no solar fitted, to mask the backfeed problem, and our Solar Panel pumped out enough power in Summer to overcome the drain. Come the Scottish Winter, and the weakness became all too apparent!
We were booked in to have an Ablemail AMT 12-2 Battery Conditioner fitted on Wednesday, but the Installer has been signed off work by his GP today with an infected wound, so everything on hold until the new year.

Have you got an EBL (or equivalent) in the van?
If so, can you trace the wiring colours to the various connector blocks in the EBL?
as each block does defined tasks?
that would (for example) tell you what purple, or blue, or pink does etc?

Hi Gerry,

Cracking idea but the geniuses have wired and positioned it in such a way that unless I strip out half of the passenger side I can't get to view the rear of the unit.
The underlaying issue is the van is still under guarantee (for what that's worth!) and I know once I start stripping stuff to get to the back of the unit, I'm going to be hit with an invalidated guarantee response if I need to claim.
I really can't see why Burstner can't release the wiring colours they use in their looms, surly this is a restriction on trade? Oh hang on, we are not in the EEC any more are we ....
