Burstner Viseo 2016
I have '65 Burstner Viseo which has taken done about 20k miles. However was sort of unprepared for the idiosyncrasies of the Comfort Gearbox after reading a few comments on here !
Mine decided after being laid up for a couple of months while moving home etc,. In the very cold time just before before Christmas the engine battery decided that it was to time to retire permanently. A new one was installed, engine started and gears engaged for a brief manoeuvre just to check. A couple of days later I was to take it out for a good run before dropping off for its service, however apart from a couple of forward and reverse moves to get out of its parking spot, the gear selection failed. Local garage came out and undertook a check with non Fiat diagnostic box and obtained the following error codes.

This initial reading obtained on first check, very cold and vehicle on a clop and listing to left.

P1773 7b
Hydraulic circuit flow/pressure low fluid level
This reading obtained later in the day after fluid level replaced.

The following day the mechanic returned took out the ATF oil and replaced increasing slightly more than the amount taken out.

An attempt to engage gears again failed and a new error message obtained as below,

P1769 63
Pump relay stuck closed circuit/component protection time out

This sounds like a need for a reset, can this be done simply as the local Main Agent required the MH to be delivered in March [as they were full of 120 cars!!] Would undertake a diagnostic and order the replacement parts. If they diagnose that much without seeing the vehicle why not order now??

Is resetting the system an competent mechanic [not me] do or does it have to go in to the main dealer?

Thank you - Martin

Best to get it to a Fial Professional garage that understands Comformatics, there are only a handful of them in the country, ones that understand the Comformatic that is. Adams Morey at Portsmouth are good.

Your garage need to first check all the fuses and relays for the comfortmatic system. If your garage can clear the codes they then need to then run an 'Actuator Base Adjustment' routine. If your garage can't do this then you need to find somebody with a copy, or purchase a copy of MultiECUscan with the associated leads to clear the codes and run the routine. If this doesn't work then you need to start looking at the hydraulic pressure in the diagnostics, it should be around 40-60 bar, if it isn't then the pump or accumulator may be worn.
