Burstner make up third beds are a nightmare. Not all models have the facility and they also often need extra bits that get lost.
Check with the previous owner if it is three berth?

The problem is the dealer advertised it as a 3 berth , they went back to the owner who says he didn’t purchase the extra kit . the dealer originally told me you turn around the passenger seat , drop the table & move the base cushions , but the distance would be for a small child . I think the dealer is telling me some porky pies ?.

I would take it back to the dealer just to ask him how its done - you could at least get a discount for miss selling
It might work if you can drop the table.
Have a look at the Burstner manual - it dhows you various configurations.
I have managed it in the past for the grandkids but its a bit of a bodge and much better with their own self inflating sleeping mats on top of the cushions.

No I don’t have the black cushions or the wooden extension pieces , I have been quoted about £450 for them from a Burstner Dealer .
Where the short seat is the base slides forward & underneath there is another piece of wood see the two pictures that are from my van .

Am I right in thinking you wouldn’t turn the passenger seat around & expect someone to sleep front to rear instead of across the width of the van ?

No that's not possible the seats are too high - they just become a side cushion.
The slide out extension is under the seat held by the four screws fixings you can see.
I've taken two of mine out so I can extend more for my wife's legs to rest on.

Thanks for the information
I have just found the vans instruction manual & it states the bed is transverse which makes sense .

I have just sent the Dealer I purchased the van from an email with pictures & basically saying what are you going to do about it ?
Will see what he says tomorrow.
Thanks for all your time on this .
Just on another point can you read your instrument panel even though mine are on permanently & adjusted up full brightness it’s not easy to see the speedometer?

Yep a common problem with Fiat Ducato.

I have a pound shop mirror positioned at an angle on the steering column. It works a treat- I ought to sell them :hi5:

I’ve bought a small GPS speedometer & mounted it on top of dash , I tried it in my car to see the accuracy & it was mirroring my cars speedo .
