we have the above bought 2nd hand this yr it is a late 2019 model on a 2.3 Fiat Ducato 130bhp. So my question is what Starter Batt should I go for (Model amp/hr....ccc amps ect ) as bought 2nd hand don't know if the Batt fitted is the original one will a 190mm high fit as this one looks about 175mm. Spoke to local fiat dealer & they inform me that going off my Reg the Fiat Batt required should b 80 AH 700cca .Seen this on ebay would it be suitable, thanks Chris.

The old adage says'you cannot buy a bad battery these days' but you can. I had to buy a new battery in Spain several years ago when the existing one wouldn't hold its charge. After 8 months the battery case cracked and all the acid ran out, fortunately onto the road. This was a not battery name I'd heard of before, but we were stuck and needed to buy. My advice is don't scrimp on prjce, but buy a well known brand with a good guarantee.

It may need an AGM battery, which are more costly than the traditional lead acid?

Have you tested the one fitted?

Ps my last van was a my19 690g, superb motorhome.

No not tested it but after it's stood for a couple of days it is a little sluggish when starting & as said don't know if it's the original Batt,(69 plate Van) so thought about a new one so we're not let down

I've got an OEM 95AH 800CCA Ducato engine battery in my garage. Replaced it, thinking it wasn't holding charge but turned out to be another issue. PM me if you are interested. Based just outside Portsmouth.
