Our Burstner Eliseo PVC will be up for its first annual water ingress check in May. I am finding it very hard to justify a 200 mile round trip plus the disproportionate cost of the water ingress check for a PVC - which is still a steel box albeit with 3 roof lights. It's German built and I would also have thought any leaks would be self evident?

I certainly do not want a habitation service as I can do all that myself.

What do other PVC owners do?

Had a new coachbuilt Burstner in 2008 and only had the damp check done for the water ingress warranty and did my own habitation checks, you will loose the warranty though if you don’t have it done, definitely on the water ingress one but maybe all of the warranty. You can also get leaks on the roof lights on a PVC due to them being fitted on a ribbed roof, my own self installed roof light leaked even though I was very careful when I installed it.

Burstner are very strict on Under Warranty water ingress checks, down to requiring it carried - out with -in the anniversary date each year of registration. Saying that Burstner also are probably the Best Company to deal with if you have an 'out of Warranty' problem.

My experience of dealing with the factory not a Dealer.

Are any warranty implications of not having it done worth the risk?
Burstners generally have a 10 year water ingress warranty. If you don't get checked within a month's of the annual anniversary each year it will be invalid. I actually did a claim on mine and they were very good.

I assume PVC will be the same.

You don't have to go to the purchasing dealer - any Burstner dealer will do. Is there not another nearer than 100 miles?
