Hi
Wondered if anyone can help.
Motorhome failed Mot Test due to side markers not working.
According to the manual there is an entry that refers to the Relay box “AD01” and fuse no B7 (5 amp) which says it’s for the “front marker lights” which I am currently assuming are the “side marker lights” as there’s no other reference. I have checked the fuse and it’s ok.
Any ideas what else could be causing the issue?

we had this problem on our Burstner. We found they were full of water. Drain and replace bulbs, drill small hole in bottom of amber plastic cover and this allows future drainage. Since doing this no further problem.

Hi and welcome 🤗

Are all other side lights working normally?

I had a side marker light out at last mot and it was only an advisory.
Maybe he was being nice to me 🙄

The Side Markers on a Motorhome are not a requirement so should never be an MOT failure, fitted or not.

The "front marker lights" will be the lights in the top corners, needed when a vehicle is over a certain height I believe.

If the vehicle failed on side markers not working, that is not a valid fail. It is useful if they work if fitted, but not obligitory. If you wanted to, you could cover each side marker with duct tape, go back to the same tester and he would have to pass the van as he cannot see any markers and they are not required to be fitted.

This may be of interest to those who want to know about what lights are REQUIRED to be fitted (as opposed to just being fitted)

OBLIGATORY LAMPS, REFLECTORS, REAR MARKINGS AND DEVICES

And the key bit on Side Markers as far as Motor Caravans are concerned in red ...
