A shout-out for BTA Motorhomes at Wickham (Hants). Just had the Ace Siena serviced and MoT'd there (£265 all in). Great service, friendly and informed (e.g just learned we have a Transit engine in what the mechanic insisted on calling a Boxer 3 even though it's clearly a Ducato . . . .). Also had a free lecture on the virtues of 'camper' tyres over van tyres from someone who actually drives a motorhome). Will definitely be going there again.

How can you have a 'Transit' (Ford) engine in what is clearly a 'Ducato' (Fiat) 🤔
Fiat engines are however shared between Fiat,Citroen and Peugeot hence the comment 'it's a Boxer 3'
As for using van tyres there are many funsters using van tyres, haven't heard of any one having a problem yet.

The answer is that you can have a Ford engine if you happen to have the Ducato 100 Multi-jet 2.2 engine. Comes with the bonus of a timing chain rather than cam belt for that extra peace of mind. If you have a spare half hour, here is a fascinating history of the Ducato, courtesy of Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Ducato

Tyres seem a bit of a marmite topic with fans of both camper and van tyres extolling the virtues of one or the other and never the twain shall meet. All I know is that BTA checked the (van) tyres that our motorhome came with and reduced the tyre pressure to the max on the tyre wall (from 70 down to 65psi and no, I didn't over inflate them - that must have happened at the last service and we've done no miles really since then).

Being as how the tyres are way past their sell by date (although looking virtually new) and at least one has cracking on the side wall (but not serious enough to be an MoT failure) I will be replacing them and will probably take the advice and go for camper tyres.

Didn't know BTA did servicing. You could pop along to McCarthy's and get your veg while they do it.

Nor did I until Snows decided they couldn't and as I went past between McCarthy's and Westlands Farm Shop on the meat and veg run, I caught a glimpse of a sign saying they do. Cancelled my booking with Spitfire (much as I like them, it is a nightmare to get to and park) and the rest is history as they say.

Sounds good value
, Looking for somewhere to get my Ducato serviced.
Do they carry out MOT on site.
what did they include service wise for that price please.

Yes, the MoT is on site. Service was the basic version with oil and filter change and everything else checked but air and pollen filters left unchanged as they didn't need it - quite refreshing for a garage to only do what has to be done . . .
