I'm a newbie
Hi guys. I was experiencing some battery issues recently and removed the battery to charge in the house and then get it tested if I couldn't get it to keep the charge. Without going into the way I did it, I seem to have damaged the underside of the control unit and the positive terminal does not connect properly. I tried to loosen the nut and whilst doing so it appeared that the plastic housing in which the bottom of the bolt sits, broke.
Now thew nut and bolt just twist. I can't get into it with anything to grip it
Do you know where I can get a replacement unit.

Thats only the fuse holder pack you didn't actually need to touch that to get the battery out. Take the whole unit off and replace the bolt if that's not possible just replace the unit .

Can you remove some more plastic to get a spanner on the bolt head? Then just insulate is with some silicon.

ebay,,, For a spare part.. Few listed..
As said by Lenny no need to have messed with that as the whole plate lifts off the positive terminal..

I agree with Lenny, shouldn't need to take that bit off.

To cure the problem you have have. Can you not put some washers under the nut?

For future reference, the whole fuse distribution block can be easily removed from the battery terminal post. First there is a bolt on the clamp that holds it to the terminal post. Then there will also be a plastic piece, probably red, and a couple of self-tapper screws screwed into the top of the battery as additional support. That plastic piece has no electrical function, it just holds the fuse block mechanically. You can see it in the pics in tonka's link above. I haven't got a pic of the Fiat part, but this aftermarket upgrade part is fixed in a similar way:

looks to be about enough spare room along that to drill another hole away from the break

You see the 2 x red and 1 x brown fuses?.....they are also live from the battery post.
Removing what you removed doesn't fully isolate the battery.
The whole plate has to be released from the actual battery post
