Hi all

I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to share a friends and family code with us for a Spanish trip

Many thanks

Matt

Not being funny, but first post on the forum, within an hour of joining, and you want a freebie?
How about an introduction, and a bit about your van and expectations.
Just my own personal opinion though.
Anyway, Welcome to Motorhomefun.

Hi Captain Yoghurtpot

Yep, I joined the forum to ask this. In fact, I only came across this forum whilst looking for a code. Apologies if that comes across like I’m looking for a freebie, but as with most large purchases these days, looking for a discount/voucher is part of the shopping process

I’m Matt, I have a wife, and 2 children, one who is 5 and one who is 6 months. With the pandemic and being pregnant, we haven’t been on a proper holiday together as a family. We have decided to road trip around Spain using my postponed paternity leave. We did plan to do school holidays, but that’s not financially viable, so we are doing June instead and will be taking my daughter out of reception for four weeks

We have borrowed a VW transporter, and plan to do eurocamp, Majorca, Ibiza, Valencia and Madrid.

I appreciate it may look cheeky or entitled, I don’t intend to be. And if no one wants to offer their code then that’s fine ( it seems like it’s frowned upon here). It’s just an ask to try and make things more affordable, we aren’t in a position to holiday multiple times a year so a membership doesn’t wash its face (Spain).

I didn’t mean to cause offence or spark insults. If people don’t want to share a code that’s fine

I believe that the discount benefit is called 'Friends and Family' or 'Frequent Traveller' and transferring it to 'strangers' is not what the shipping lines allow (although it is common practise to give the code to Fun subscribers on here).
I don't have any access to shipping line discounts (which are the grant of the shipping lines, not this website) but your request sounds entirely reasonable since nowadays it is a normal shopping process to seek discounts.
If you aren't aware, just one tip would be that you won't be able to exchange Calor gas cylinders abroad although as you'll be on camp sites you'll mostly be using their mains power supply but you may need an adapter on some sites for your mains hook-up cable.
I hope you and your family have a great time.

Hello
Sounds like a brilliant trip and from what I have seen, Spain is in for another scorcher this year.
Have done myself Eurocamp, but in France, many years ago.
It was really good with my family, and my daughter was less than 1 year when we went, but we were not touring.
Hope you get the motorhome bug from your adventures, and then maybe you may find yourself looking for your own to enjoy even more fun. :giggle:
No offence taken here on my part, but this forum is absolutely amazing for all things motorhome and travel related, and an awful lot more besides, even foreign languages!
All power to your elbow, and quite often people put scenic pics of places they have been whilst in their vans, caravans, tents, whatever , and then that starts even more interesting conversations.
With that nice intro, think you might just get a code 😉

Welcome, why not pay for a full membership and not only will find that a code will be forthcoming and cover the cost of your membership, but you will find a wealth of advice and help would be at your fingertips.

Noooooooo!
We all had to start somewhere, and here, on Fun, you will get good, enthusiastic and accurate advice from many who have been and done it, made mistakes, laughed about it and moved on.
One very good thing this forum is good at is helping with advice and assistance if things go badly wrong, mechanically wise or even personally wise, in helping to source information and assistance.
But don't forget to still take your own travel insurance and breakdown cover.

I'm (long) retired, no doubt like many on here and have been in your shoes with limited holiday opportunities, a young family and a multitude of demands upon the family budget. (Unfortunately in those days my budget would only stretch to two weeks tenting in the Cornish and Welsh rain. ;) )

Yup, been there, got the tee shirt and the jigsaw.
The one thing that gets me though is the seeming annoyance at taking children out of school during term time by schools.
Agreed, not everyone's budget is capable of stretching to just going in the 6 or 7 weeks in July and August, and the travel companies attitude to pricing during these times is questionable.
But I am sure that the posters family will have a brilliant time and that his daughter will learn more in 4 weeks travelling in Europe, than probably the entire summer term in school.
Plus, June will not be the extreme heat that those places get in July and August, so much better for young children.
