Hiya everyone,
Can you tell me, is it any cheaper to buy Brittany ferry tickets both ways from UK to Spain...or works out the same as individual ...Thanks Janet

I don't know the answer to that, just to say we always book one way which leaves us the option to return when we like, subject to Shengen of course.

It works out the same as each leg is separately itemised and there is no discount for booking both at the same time. I usually do a return booking in order to ensure I have space and the cabins/facilities I need, but I have also done single legs in the past.

There could be a theoretical problem with only buying a single and waiting until you get to where you're going before buying a return.
Some travel Insurance providers insist that cover only applies when you have a return ticket.

I always book mine both at the same time on the same booking as i know when i am going and coming back, if you don't then no need to book the return until you know as it's not any cheaper.

Thankyou...That's what we normally do, book one way at a time....Thanks Janet

The main drawback to making a return booking rather than two one way bookings is that you lose some of the flexibility for the return leg. Eg. with a "standard" ticket you can make changes free of charge via the website up to 2 weeks before the outward journey. After that you will need to pay a fee to make any changes. With a "Flexi" ticket it is up to 4 hours before the outward journey. So, with a return ticket there is no chance whatsoever of making changes to the return journey free of charge during the course of your holiday. For that reason when I'm booking I always book the two legs separately, one after the other.

Yes, its so much easier to change a one way booking. Thats what I do.

I think you can call BF to amend a Flexi ticket when you have done one part or more of the trip. Not sure what the terms are.

Yes you can, and same with a Standard ticket but it costs £30 for them to do the amendment or £20 if you do it yourself via the website.

Thankyou for that information Dart....that's what we're going to do, book tickets separately, it seems a lot less complicated...Thanks Janet

Also a point to take into consideration is that the sailing times do not come out till June 2024 so what I shall be doing is booking our outward bound crossing early next year as they are available till Nov 24, then booking our return when the timetable is published.

If you book through CAMC as I did, I decided to return early so changed the sailing date, it cost me £51.00 :- £20.00 to CAMC and £31.00 to ferry company.
