Hi. We are looking at staying in Spain during Feb next year.
On the Brittany Ferries website, we noticed that they have a special deal, which basically consists of 28 days on a campsite Inc return ferry to santander and cabin for about £650.
We have never stayed on a site for longer than a week and, as we are still fairly new to all of this, we wondered if anyone else had been on the Brittany Ferries deal and would love to hear how it went, or would appreciate your views on what to do instead.
We have a Mercedes LWB Sprinter, and Linda uses a mobility scooter, so need somewhere with good access to towns etc if we are basically in one place for a month.
Thanks for your help

Martyn & Linda.

I might be wrong but I think those dates are for between October 23 and March 24.

You're not wrong, but I for one will be looking when their prices for Winter 24/25
come out in about July.

I appreciate that La Manga isn't to everyones taste but at those prices, who says
you've got to even turn up.

Me and Mrs Emmit have looked at BF's Apartment Winter Sun offers in the past and,
on making enquiries, we discovered that we could book ferries well before and well
after the 28nts that the apartment was booked for us. I could also include the 'van
instead of a car but would have to book a supplement because of the size difference.

In the end we decided against taking the 'van because there were very few apartments
available that had open air parking for the 'van. Most of them had underground parking
in urban areas which made it a no no for us.

Thanks for your replies. We are looking at this years deals as I presume they do these deals every year  but reading the posts regarding Spain and how it gets really busy, I'm trying to be ahead if the crowd.
They seam to have a couple of campsites to choose from, La Manga, Villanova Park and the question really is...are they any good, should we go with a deal, or better to DIY and hope for the best?

£650 return for LWB Sprinter is a bargain in itself, stay where you want when you disembark

The offer is for maximum 7 metres length x 2.6 metres high, but if they would quote a reasonable price for 3 metres high it would be a no brainer for us.
Don't know that we could stay at La Manga for more than a couple of weeks, but the campsite part of the deal is effectively for nothing.

hello!
new member here….hope you don’t mind me butting in.
By coincidence I was looking at this earlier this morning. Got me excited too. But then I noticed it was ‘prices per person for a 28 night stay’
I don’t think there are any bargains on Brittany Ferries 😔

I need to go to Specsavers-managed to miss the per person 🤣

So, book a van with a single occupant. Or are they saying a min. of two people.
Get the other half to go as a foot passenger.
Please note: I did not say wife or girlfriend. I've told you, I'm ex diplomatic corps. If I wasn't, I'd be a different corpse by now.

We have just left Camping La Manga. It has a reputation but we really liked it. Plenty to do, good bus connections, lovely walks to the local areas. We would definitely return.

We are now at Vilanova. Only been here a day so a bit early to say but our first impression is of a well run and tidy park with good services and convenient buses.
Much hillier and more trees.

Sorry for not updating. We had a bereavement in the family.
Brittany ferries got back to me with a price of £1473 for 28 days, staying at Villanova or La Manga.
Is this a good option ( CAMC do something similar) or would you just take pot luck and hopefully get something / somewhere when you get there.
We would probably stay on same site for the duration.

We just book a ferry these days and find Aires and campsites on park4night. I you don't like the place or your neighbours, just move on. It's more crowded by the coast, a few miles inland it's easier. Look at the Lemon Grove East of Mercia.

If you're going to stay on campsites that's a good deal for 28 days.

It does sound a good deal, but we have taken cheese monsters comment about neighbours ( although we get on with most people lol) and what happens if we don't like the site?
So, I think we will do some more research and compare sites available in more depth.

Do you have a website address please. Cannot seem to find site using Google. Thanks

In park4night search for #15353 or Camper Park Huerta de Murcia.

It's a short walk into a very Spanish town, not pretty but it's Spanish. If you don't like it, move on... we went for a week, stayed six. It all depends what you want.

The first time we took the van to Spain on Brittany Ferries a decade ago, I found they had a 4-night hotel holiday for significantly less than the return fare for 2 passengers and the vehicle. So I asked if we could go for a duration of five weeks, with the 4 hotel-nights included, to which the answer was yes.

We didn't bother to go to the hotel (which happened to be near the north coast) - we let the hotel know directly we didn't require the accommodation.

So my advice would be, do some research online to see what is on offer and then discuss what you actually want on the phone with BF. They can be quite flexible. ;) (y)
