We've arrived at Caen/Ouistreham, earlier than planned. Booked on tomorrows 1400hrs service to Portsmouth Having paid for a flexi ticket we've just been in the office, to inquire if an earlier boat was availble. Yes Sir! we can get you on tonights boat, £90 ammendment fee.SVP.

Well I have to admit I passed on that one! So I'm staying in the Ouistreham aire 13 Euros, with leccky and water. A bottle of vino, and todays crossword printed out.

Yer sausages are a bit expensive.. i said to the butcher… guy up the road is far cheaper… butcher says go and buy from him… he’s none left!!
Butcher says when I’ve none left I’ll sell at his price🤣👍

Wow! Having already paid all that extra charge for a Flexi ticket?! A rip-off indeed.

A few years back we were unable to take our booked return Brittany ferry from St Malo to Portsmouth due to an issue with our dog's paperwork. However, they put us on a ferry from Caen two days later at no additional cost and we didn't even have a flexi ticket. It seems that their policy might have changed since then - for the worse.

That's my point really, I paid extra last September for a flexi ticket, but apparently the return journey isn't flexi once youve used the outward journey.

If I'd bought 2 separate tickets (same price) the return would be flexi.

So if I’m correct. You expected a more expensive crossing for the same price as your original crossing.
I use Brittany ferries and always book single flexible crossings. I change them to suit my needs closer to the date if required but at no point does it state that the price stays the same.
Overnight are always more expensive so I don’t use them. A straight afternoon for afternoon is always the same unless you’re going into a holiday weekend ect.
Personally I’d have stayed at Hermanville sur mer and saved the €13 as well.

Edit
I see you booked a return trip.
It has been said numerous times on threads about always booking single crossings. So much more flexible
