Just received an email informing me they are changing the deposits on their flexi and standard fares to the above, think it was previously 25%. What a jump!

This year I had to cancel a return crossing so lost the 25%. No mention in the email if that aspect changes too if cancelled. Don’t like the idea of that prospect really. ☹️

Not sure if they are in trouble, but, B.F. have for the past year or so been getting tighter with everything..... we have now made the decision we will travel to Newhaven for a more cost effective ferry ( especially as over 60 20% off, and we can make up the cost of travel to N/ haven on the D.F. prices..... 1ltr spirit £10 )........ just wish we had some competition out of Pompey, B.F. have had their own way for too long .

Yep they did me over for £168 as well having to cancel and could only rebook up to 12 months from the date that we originally booked the crossing. Not be using them again, Newhaven Dieppe it will be

The whole Business Model of Brittany Ferries has changed a great deal over the last 20 years. Certainly has from my first crossing in 1981.

Most of it, from my point of view is not good.

The deposit has gone from £20 Always fully flexible to 25%, now 50%
Chinese Built Vessels that are not up to their previous Standards.
Longer Crossing Times to Spain
Lack of Entertainment
Poor Customer Service
Lower food Standards

Benefits, search me

Have the agree that the Chinese Vessels are not a patch on the old fleet - progress?

Progress? Becoming Ryanair of the seas .

But ! Is it what the current and future generations want / expect ?

More feet up on chairs, bag of crisps, butty and a can of lager.

Rather than the Thames yacht club in smart dress and wanting Al la carte dining ?.

I use them 6-8 times a year between Portsmouth & St Malo mostly, when I first bought the house near Vannes 20 years ago it was ca. £185 a return trip. I've just booked 2025 trips and they have come in at £560-£690 even with club discount. If it carries on at this rate I'll have to sell one of the kids.
