Anyone have any experience of BFs dog muzzle rules are they strictly enforced (we have two small dogs) are you refused travel without dog muzzles ?

We took one with us (one of those soft ones) but only (loosly) used it from the van to cabin.
When we took him for a couple of walks on deck we had it with us but didn't use it.

Thanks for the info👍

depends on who directs you to the lift. one looked (I only used a soft one) one didnt seem bothered

Why wouldn’t you use one if they ask you?

They aren’t just there to prevent a bite to a human, it’s a stressful busy place on a ship and a nip from small dog to a big one can have disastrous results for the smaller dog.

I put ours on at home and practiced with it beforehand, they still hate it, but it keeps everyone safe and happy.

Only time I have ever been bitten by a dog as an adult was a little chihuahua who tried to take me out when running past and it was off the lead. 😆

You'll need to show it at check in. We're asked almost every time.
Also, some of the lift attendants insist on them.

Get the dogs used to them before you travel. Put on for few moments and reward by removing it and giving a reward but be careful you are not rewarding them for trying to get it off! I found a treat first got our dog focused then I distracted him with a treat as soon as the muzzle was on, removing it almost immediately if he wasn't struggling. Increase the time in stages.

If you get refused to travel, you only have yourselves to blame.
Rules are there for a reason.
If you don't have one at check in they provide you with one. VERY unlikely you would be refused travel as Mr Happy here implies! (y) You MAY be refused travel if you have a stray pack of Bacon or pint of the good stuff (milk) at the very least you will be 'Keel Hauled' because 'Rules are there for a reason' ::bigsmile:

BF will issue a muzzle but to keep costs down...

When we travelled in June we used them from the car deck to the cabin, and back. Initially we put them on in the “poop deck” but almost no one else was, so we stopped. I didn’t see anyone challenging the lack of muzzles.

If your dog(s) are good around other dogs then I doubt their will be an issue.

One thing to bear in mind is first time dogs are very reluctant to pee/poop on deck! Allow extra time

The BF muzzle isn't animal cruelty by the way (informative photo though), It's a standard mesh muzzle same as you buy for a quid or so!

Supposed to wear one. My wife was nipped by a dog in the lift on one of the older ships. When my wife complained, she as told "off don't be soft". Didn't go down well.
