We found this map from a TO

I ve taken photos and it is pretty self explanatory.

We have been seeing lots of Aires not noted on the apps.

If touring Brittany you may want to bookmark this

I took them all the same way so no idea why some are sideways.

I LL do a scan and copy when we get home.

If you go to the trouble of making copies I would be only too happy to cover any postage costs. We love Brittany and spend a lot of time there each year. This machine that I am messaging you on, I can't download or copy from. Please let me know. John.

Back in a couple of weeks.
I LL scan them and I can put them into resources on here
If they aren't in there by October send me a message.
If that doesn't work for you I m sure I can accommodate

We have a better cunning plan. We LL get you the whole thing and send it to you when we get back

We'll be in Brittany in a couple of weeks, what is it called? If I see any I'll get as many as I can and bring them back for anybody who wants them.

We find if you visit a local tourist office and ask for info on local aires they often have an up to date leaflet with them on . There are lots of TO across France and their local info is really useful and free.

That's what we have done. We have always asked about local Aires and received a local map covering maybe 10 Aires.
This time we wanted to know about an Aire just over the border in the hope they might have the next regions map. She didn't have it so began looking on internet then she thought about this booklet that is produced every year.
So it is available

I think we got that particular one a couple of years ago when I was looking for somewhere to swim and paddle board in Brittany, the TO recommended a lake (lac de Guerledan) which we would have never otherwise gone to look at but it turned out to be a great spot with an aire just above the lake .

I agree that the French TO are really worth a visit , they often also have free leaflets with local marked walks on them or local cycle routes.

Whilst it can be daunting to go in these offices if you feel your French is rubbish invariably they speak English and always ask where you are from to add to their stats list :france:

I just checked and the TO at lesconcil where I got it from is closed til Monday.

I LL try same tactics as Chuns and ask for 20 at another TO
We are off on our first visit to Brittany on 10th June, just planning potential route/stopovers - wish I had that booklet! But any suggestions welcome, never used aires before. Ed C

Plan route but make sure your first stop is at a tourist information office.
Show them the pic of the Aires book in the link I gave and ask for that.
Once you have one get another (one for van one for home) then you are bound to find an Aire on your planned route.

Alternatively you could bung a pm to me and I can share a created map of Brittany which just happens to have a lot of Aires on it. Also contains interesting rubbish like a couple of whiskey distilleries (lannion distillery is well liked by wife and in laws and we normally bring back our allowance of their single malt)
It's colour coded for free Aires and paying ones I think there are some beaux villages on there.
The yellow stars are naturist beaches but it is not imperative.

Map contains coloured Aires for freebies and paying. Whiskey distilleries, beaux villages and the naturist beaches which can be ignored if necessary.

Up the top of this page is an envelope and it should have a red number on it (probably 1)

Open that up, follow instructions.

If it doesn't work send me a Gmail address by return of post from the envelope. (That is a pm ... Private Message)

We are just using Search for Sites to find places. Found some cracking sites, aires and free stops on this trip.

Just buy all the aires north. Comes with the map and lisitings. Bit old fashioned with Apps but we still use it.
I just bought both the North & South All the Aires books. I have the various apps mentioned above too but do like these books. A couple of pictures of each Aire are helpful and a useful tool to then search for reviews via the apps if you're unsure. The books weren't cheap but they're the 2024 version so should mostly be up to date and worth the investment in my opinion.

I am one of the inspectors, you will find that a few details may have changed post 2024 but I didn't find many closed in Brittany in 2024. Will be overthere 31st this month.
