Hi guys anyone have a Brit Stop book ? Wondering if it's worth the purchase as don't know how many Scottish stops will be in it , other point is it doesn't say the cost of the yearly membership anyone through some light on it

There are 68 Scottish stop overs so far. As for the cost. Broken Link Removed

We are in our 3rd year and have used the BritStop books all the time and feel the price is very good. If you never leave Scotland, then the price + P&P for 68 Stop overs may not be worth it to you, but there again, it is the price of 2 - 3 nights camping.

I don’t have 2019 but have 2018. There are not very many in Scotland. I think this is because the rules are different there re staying overnight. We have stayed at a few pubs overnight in Scotland by just asking. Never been refused. As far as I can remember it costs around £30 and to us is well worth the money.

Drop them a note and ask how many - the new book is just out and has many more I understand

We have found that most Pubs with a reasonably sized car park will allow an overnight stay if you eat in the Pub, whether or not they are in the book.

Go in, say you want a meal and a drink, if necessary stress the “drink”, can you park overnight?

We have only been refused once in 30 years of motorhoming

Living in Scotland I don't find the need to have to purchase Britstops. @keith has a free list of pubstops in the resources section. I usually find if you go in for a drink or food and just ask if you can stay over most places are happy to do so.

There are many many places great for wilding in Scotland. Last weekend saw us in Ayr then Troon. If I ventured into England often I might be tempted to buy Britstops book.

We can only envy motorhomers in Scotland.

In that, at least, they are ahead of England and Wales.

Got my 2019 book and very pleased with the new look, been a member for years now and never regretted the purchase price. Got to support small business or we loose them. Often see on here about buying a meal to stay in a pub car park with Brit Stops you don’t need to. As far as Scotland I have used some and wild camped too also used them in Ireland as well as wild sometimes. Well worth the the price and normally the first book to look up Stops.

What a great comment "Got to support small business or we loose them" - we have used them in the past whilst in the UK and we don't buy the food ever, but I do like a pint of real ale. Personally we buy the book whilst touring the UK. Worth the money...... yes.
