Hi All,
can we use this one page just to let you know what's on at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta and important links - all chat around this one on the other BIBF Rally chat please. Hopefully this will enable all who are coming to our meet to see (and plan around) what's on. If the weather is good this should be the best they have ever done.:)

What's on at the Fiesta
Across the four days the Fiesta, you have a number of chances to see over 100 balloons ascending to the skies, and lighting up at night to music, followed by spectacular fireworks.
Thursday 6th August
6.00pm Revealing of Special Shapes!

If early mornings are not your thing, why not join us for the day enjoying lunch or afternoon tea, in time to see flypasts and secure a good spot to watch the evening ascent as the balloons lift off over the City of Bristol.
9.15pm Nightglow and Fireworks
The famous Fiesta Nightglows are a stunning end to your evening. Over 30 ballooning teams will light up the night sky with their balloons in time to music as night falls at 9.15pm on both Thursday 6th and Saturday 8th August, followed by a spectacular fireworks finale.
Friday 7th August
6.00am Mass Ascent - ‘Breakfast and Balloons’

You can watch the hot air balloons take to the sky as the sun rises with a morning coffee and bacon sandwich in hand. Take in the serenity of an early morning surrounded by countryside as the balloons ascend into the bright blue sky.

Band Stand
Everyone has their favourite part of the Fiesta, some people like to put a picnic rug on the ground and stay in one place, others like the bustle and noise of the Fiesta fairground.
But if you have an appetite for local food, great wines and beers whilst listening to an amazing range of local musical talent – may we recommend the Bandstand. Back for another year and once again showcasing the best of local music talent is our ever popular band stand, programmed by Jelli Records. Make sure you bring your dancing shoes with you so that you’re ready. A wide array of music will be played from jazz and blues to electric and larger than life vocals.

Hi All,
as the balloon festival itself is a packed, full-on, dawn to dusk long weekend soiree' we have thought that all Funsters coming, 'does as they please' which some people like - others like the fun of the fair, so to speak.(y)
I have looked at the events programme and I see that Friday night is 'clear' (as in no night-glows going on). Was wondering if we would like to get a barbeque night up and going - you don't have to attend, just thought it may be a good idea to do something and join in as a group if you wish. (y)

I would suggest everyone who wants to come along to the Funsters Friday evening barbeque bring along your favourite foods (and additional barbeques/charcoal) and we can have some fun. Anyone who can bring along a gazebo (or two) would be special guests, especially if it rains a little - though Joy is doing her 'no rain' dance as we speak.

Sunday evening is also a 'quiet' evening so perhaps a celebratory drink would be in order to reflect on the festival. For both evenings guitars, banjos, digeri-do0s, washboards are all welcome.

Do let me know if you would like to do this (or anything else) as I am trying to get some idea of numbers.

Regards,

Trikeman.

We would love to join in a community Braai. I'm happy to make a salad to share.
I can feel a jug of pimms appearing too.

Good ideal.

P.s don't worry about rain, the sun always shines on the righteous funsters...

Count us in for the barby - however I am bereft - ukes weren't mentioned in the musical ensemble :crying::crying::crying:and I don't want any clever stuff like 'that's cos they ain't musical' @Taran_Las ;)

We have A weber - and yes, I know, you can get tablets for that @Taran_Las .

Joy,
Please bring along some grass burgers, shrubbery pancakes and hedgerow sausages (complete with a garnish of weeds) - fancy killing some poor hedge or beautiful shrubbery to eat in burgers,,,,,,, poor, poor hedge/shrubbery.:imoutahere:

Reminds me of the old 'shrubbery' sketch in Mont Python.:clap2:

Trikeman. (Lordy, this is going to be a scream - if nothing else).:laughing:

Whoa!
You ought to see the balloons taking off from Ashton Court today :notworthy2: - the pilots are getting ready and practicing their take offs and landings.

If this weather continues it will be FANTASTIC.:clap2: :cooler:

Now, back to the barbeque suggestion (@Debs is up for anything - apparently) whilst her other half is taking to the skies in a pre-arranged flight,,,,,,,,,. Reminds me of another Monty Python sketch.

"You lucky B*******d".

Trikeman.
