Hi Funsters,
My Burstner motorhome has reached its 2nd birthday -meaning that the Fiat Breakdown/Recovery cover has expired. I thought about taking out this cover as an extra with my Comfort Insurance policy (cost £65), but I'm not sure how good the policy is. I particularly want a policy that covers assistance with punctures.
Has anyone got any experience of the Comfort policy or can recommend a good value Motorhome Breakdown/Recovery policy for UK/continental use ?

When we had the Fiat service at 2 years old I enquired if Fiat offered a breakdown cover and was informed that I could maintain the same cover as when new for £15.00 per year provided the van was serviced by a Fiat dealership.

I seem to recall something similar to that but the cost of having it serviced by fiat compared to an independent would pay for a good recovery policy.

I carry a spare but,

as you know many many motorhomes are not supplied with a spare therefore i believe that " replacing a wheel " means replacing a damaged rim with a new rim. i do not believe that is about roadside assistance because of a puncture.

Check your handbook, warranty is 2 years but breakdown cover often 3 years. I found out the hard way after I paid Comfort.

One thing to be aware of is repatriation claim limit is £5000.

I actually contacted Comfort over this regularly quoted issue. They confirmed that they will attend to all and every breakdown no matter what the cause. With a low loader if necessary.
I don't carry a spare wheel.

Can I just ask - since this thread has reminded me - would anybody choose to pay for the Comfort breakdown over the Fiat one - again UK / EU including punctures - before the end of the Fiat standard cover period, and if so why?
