Brake warning light

Brake indicator light came on, checked brakes, found indicator cable broken where plug is, pulled plug off. Have wired it directly to brake pad started van, brske warning light has gone off, flickers then goes off again. Not convinced problem solved. Pads and discs in good condition. Any advice welcome.

Personally I would just bypass the system. If the vehicle is well looked after and serviced then it’s not required.
