Just spent a lovely sunny day cleaning and fettling the van after a few weeks of abuse on (and in) the UK road and weather system.

While I was furtling with the wheels I had a cursory glance at the quantity of meat on the brake pads, they're looking pretty darn low, so decided to take advantage of eurocarparts kind offer of 50% off brake parts this weekend... to be fitted at a later date...

The Rear's, I think, I'm sorted with, there are only two choices, one is post 2014, t'other is pre 2014, as we're 2012 on an AlKo chassis that seems a clear option.

What I don't understand is the offerings for the front end..

Although the measurements for each option seem to be the same (apart from one that's 5mm higher), they talk about "Type 30 + 33" or "Maxi 35 + Type Maxi 35" or "Type Maxi 40"

Can anyone advise what I should order, the donor vehicle is a Fiat 3.0l Maxi 180 Multijet on a 12 plate.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers
Red, Bannock and Chris.

It's 19:00 on a Bank Holiday Monday... Don't think they'll answer... ;)

Here's a wild idea. Maybe call tomorrow when they are open :)

The Maxi refers to the model of your van, your V5 or original documentation should tell you which model you have.
I doubt Eurocarparts would know, they couldn’t tell which model I had although they sold 3 different sets of pads for mine.
I found the correct model number in my V5

I have in the last 8 years done much more milage (80,000) across the water and have had many routine maintaince operations done such as fitting new pads. Invariably they have been MUCH cheaper than here. And I am talking of franchised MB dealerships in both cases.

The 30 33 35 and 40 you are reading refer to wheel base sizes on the fiat chassis.

Maybe a word with the converter will give the correct pads for your van.

Does this help?

It seems the numbers refer to the Gross Vehicle Weights. 30 = 3000 35= 3500. 40= 4005

Thanks to everyone for responding, unfortunately my laptop expired shortly after posting so I never got to order the parts before the sale ended at midnight, hopefully they will be on sale again at the end of the month.

@Yorick, sorry if I caused offence, in order to take advantage of the sale prices the items had to be ordered before the end of the day, so calling the next day was not an option (y)

Cheers
Red.
