Last night someone told us that BP garages are going to stop selling LPG on their forecourts, anyone else heard this? I did a quick Google but could only find articles dated back to 2012.

I believe there is a contract in place that Flogas have/will be managing LPG at BP sites but this is currently bottle sales only

Read this a couple of months ago. They have stopped selling LPG at some sites where it was uneconomic for them. According to their website they are committed to the Autogas business but have sold their bottled and tank filling business in Europe

not enough money in it for the greedy :swear2: no interest in the consumer just greed greed greed rant over :swear2:
Same as my company, we have shareholders to keep happy.......

Several reasons for the sale:

  • Economics - they weren't making money of the the bottled business
  • It wasn't their core business either
  • Ultimately they needed to free up cash to pay for the U.S. Gulf claims
  • No oil major makes money out of the the downstream business, least of all, retail; all of the money is in E&P which is why most small to medium refineries have been sold to small players, only keeping the very large ones running
You are right, they have no interest in the consumer, except for those who buy their crude and gas as extracted.
