I have been tinkering with my Victron gear layout resulting in a pair of Orion XS DCDC chargers mounted on a piece of mdf and on the other side a cut-off switch and fuses plus a negative connection post. The assembly is fitted to the rear of the passenger seat base. The Orion's face under the seat leaving the switch & fuses easily accessible facing into the rear.

However, the stock plastic louvred cover no longer fits without cutting it and fettling. Its quite ugly anyway. I think a much neater look would be to fabricate a new box & cover it (same for drivers seat to match). I've seen some manufacturers have done this but I wondered if anyone here has done the same & can share how they did it - ie what materials and method of fixing the the seat base frame. tia

My seat base contains a 280Ah battery, a bus bar and a shunt, and that's about all there is room for within the base. So I've got a wooden plate attached to the back of the frame with my AC charger mounted on it facing outwards. The plate is attached to the frame with heavy duty zip ties... I guess I could use P-clips if I wanted?

The rear plastic cover still fits.

Our last couple of Hymers had a steel plate on the back of the seat.
Top folded at right angle so it clipped in where the top or the plastic back went and the bottom folded the opposite way and screwed to the floor with a plastic trim on top.

Only photo I have of it not very clear.
