I'm a newbie
Hi ,
Has anyone removed the air bag or steering wheel from a 2001 Peugeot boxer? I have scoured the internet but can only find details on newer models or older models and non of these are anything like the set up on my van. I presume the ducato models are similar but an inter net search has not turned up anything that is like mine. I would prefer some information before just diving in but it's going to be this weekends project no matter what. Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Don't do it you will not be able to go around a corner or be safe in an accident.

I wouldn't attempt to remove an airbag without DETAILED knowledge of how to deactivate it first.......airbags can kill as quickly as they can save.

You can deactivate all airbags simply and safely by removing the starter battery negative connection before you start work and replacing it once you have finished. Disconnect the EHU as well because if your van has a power unit that maintains the starter battery when on EHU it will attempt to charge the missing battery. Although unlikely to cause a safety issue don't be tempted to do it with the system live as the ECU may notice the missing airbag and may throw-up a fault code that's difficult to reset.

Hi,
Yes I know all about how the air bag works and how to deactivate it as I've done others before, the problem I have with the van is their are no visible entry holes in the steering wheel to un hook the springs that hold the airbag
in place, I was hoping someone had already done this and could give me a heads up on how the spring clip system is arranged.
