I've been clearing out the wine cellar (well actually the old larder)
I've found 5 different bottles of Port
I don't drink the stuff
Two of the bottles seem to be £15 common or garden Port.
But a couple of the bottles are the wrong side of £80 each on t'web.

Does anyone drink Port - If I were to put all 5 on sale page as a job lot.

(All have been stored for at least a decade, in a wine rack at inside temperature which in our larder is between 5c and 15c. Undamaged labels)

I’ve got some 1977 Warre left, bought en primeur. The same as Queen Elizabeth had for the dinner with President Xi of China in 2015! So probably past it’s best😁. Currently £139 a bottle!!

I’ve got a few cases of Taylor’s ‘77, I bring a bottle out for get togethers, it’s like liquid Christmas cake but you do know it the next morning if you indulge! I think port is an underrated drink, at one point it started getting a little fashionable and prices rose but you can get some good bottles for reasonable prices relative to red wine.

Sell them via one of the online auction houses. I had a customer ask me to clear out some stuff from his garage.
One item was a bottle of champagne brandy he said he didn’t want. I sold it for £150.

You always receive the Port on the right and pass it to the left and depending which Mess your in it shouldn’t leave the table, i.e. slide it along and tilt to pour. Port is the drink of the Gods. My profile photo was taken at a Trafalgar night at HNM Collingwood.

I was just about to bump it to you, but I should have known you would be on the trail? 😄

Many ports go off after a certain age. Specific vintages may improve. Just because they're old doesn't make them good. Ask me how I know.

White port served freezing cold in the heat of any day as a pre-lunch aperitif excellent- but there again so is sherry, also Campari & orange juice. And the latter is such a pretty colour!

I’m sure your right Phil but I’ve never had an old Port that was undrinkable;)
