Bosnia insurance

This is my first question on this site as I am a recent member. We are hoping to go to Bosnia for a few days in May/June as part of a longer trip to Croatia and Slovenia. Our motorhome insurance does not cover Bosnia. I understand we can buy insurance cover at the border. Does anyone have recent experience of this and know the cost? Thanks.

Are you travelling in to Bosnia or just going through the strip?

We went many years ago and paid around £30 for a month.

We hope to visit Mostar and Sarajevo, not simply go through the strip. We can assume the cost of insurance has increased since the time of your visit. Did you buy the insurance at the border?

Yes we did. Bosnia is fascinating. We enjoyed it more than Croatia but it was 17 yrs ago.

We were in Croatia last summer and wanted to visit Sarajevo, Mostar and Jajce, however, we were not covered. I contacted the insurance company and low and behold, they said yes as only going for 2 weeks!!

I am glad you were able to get cover. Unfortunately Caravanguard doesn't and won't cover Bosnia

Did it a couple of years ago, was asked at the border for our insurance green card, didn´t have but could ´buy insurance ´ at the border for €45 ...................turned around and took the scenic route, a Bosnian colleague at the time told me this is a standard scam but you have to take it or leave it....
