For the larger motorhome who has almost everything - Bob https://daan.tech/en/discover-bob-mini-dishwasher/ the mini dishwasher:

We've not tried this but if it does what is claimed it sounds good for anyone who might want this.
Fill it from a jug & it empties into the sink or a bucket, uses a frugal amount of water & cycles only 20 minutes. Interesting extra ultraviolet function too.

I think that would go down well in many luxury apartments that are built today where you cant even swing a cat around in

Spotted that the RP Rebellion 2 (£196k) van conversion has the Bob dishwasher in the display model at the current CCM Show at the NEC

Spec says 1000W, so about the same as a coffee machine or microwave. But I think that would be mostly for heating the water, so if you fed it with gas/diesel-heated water it would probably take very little total energy from an inverter setup.

Lenny HB a new accessory to go with your new MH! 😄

I’m not a fan of dishwashers, your favourite mug/plate/cutlery is in there either clean or dirty and not where you want it to be.

Stop dirtying it then 😈

Exactly this...and the reason I e told my family it's going soon as it breaks. The energy they use too is ridiculous... And it just ends up everything is in there...
Can clean em all up in the sink in 10mins.

I once visited a house which had two dishwashers. The clean plates were taken out of one, and put in the other one after use. No need for a cupboard to store them.

I think you'll find that washing up a dishwasher full of pots etc manually will take a lot longer than 10 mins, I wash up as we don't have a dishwasher and it probably takes at least double that if not longer due to changing the water.

I suggest you try it before discarding the dishwasher.

at home we put our dishwasher on overnight, so it actually costs pennies to run and its all ready for us when we get up.

HOWEVER - as regards having one in the motorhome, to be honest we quite enjoy the washing up together after we've eaten, one washing the pots, the other drying them and then putting them away. We actually chat to each other and discuss what we've done that day or what we will do or where we should go the next day.

if we decide to do the washing up at a site facility, it often gives us chance to chat to other people who are also washing up, so again having a dishwasher would spoil that !
