Went to Motorhome no internal electrics , phoned Stowmarket Installs as he had put some gadget on m/h to trickle charge vehicle Lithium battery from Solar Panel a couple of weeks ago, he said probably BMS shut down leisure battery, start vehicle, then check electrics it was that of course .
I now know what the BMS do !!

Did he suggest why the BMS had shut down, as it's not been cold enough, and I am assuming you didn't leave anything on to drain it down to the cut off voltage? 🤷‍♂️

Glad to see that you managed to wake up the BMS. (y)

Cheers,

Jock. :)

He said that it must have been that both the leisure and the vehicle battery were fully charged,it's the second time he has come across this, first time was a battery from Road Pro, perhaps that was a time when Lithium came out , soon as I quizzed him about mine he knew exactly what it was.

I got it wrong again, found out Leisure Lithium battery was flat I told Electrician it was fully charged on the habitation control, but I forgot to tell him I had the engine running, anyhow saw there was ( under the seat) 3 lights on the battery and one was Red!! Phoned Epsilon (battery make) as I had got on mains charge for hours I switched off mains and immediately all the habitation power went off, Epsilon chap said battery switched off on BMS , " Hell" ! He said you need to keep on charge , put APP on phone , you need battery model and Pin code for that battery ( it's under black top which you pull off, ) next got APP and went to Force on on APP. and it started charging red light on battery stared flashing so should be charging, the App is slow when setting up, hope this may help someone else, to me can't make me mind up about Lithium, electrics when I was in the motor trade electrics were simple, now it's my worst nightmare , probably me age ,!!? Hate em!

Don't you have solar to keep leisure battery topped up especially if its feeding the engine battery.?

Probably not enough as running tracker and alarm 🤔
But they take minimal draw. How many watts? We had 150w on last van and never had problems so I would check you're actually getting charge from it as it sounds like not.

Thanks I'll get it checked 👍

Eventually the Epsilon Super B Lithium battery is charged to 100%, although this afternoon the mains charger at 47% the mains charger reverted to Solar charging (dull day .1of a amp ! ) although the Mains charger was showing a Green light , so I assume the Box which had 180 on and flashing blue light and a amber light switched the charging to Solar, anyone knows why this happened please? To revert it back to Mains charging I switched the Mains off for about 15 seconds and on the box 180 switched it up and down , Lithium battery stuff and this technology works me up and the Mrs. Can't take much more of this sell the motorhome, 10 minutes later she's packing clothes in M/H ready to go away 🤣

Once my Epsilon super B is charged to 100% , the charging on mains cut out, then the leisure battery starts discharging as using electricity, but the mains charging won't start charging the leisure lithium battery until I disconnect the mains lead and replug it in, Anyone on here knows why that is? Please

What mains charger are you using?

I wouldn’t use that charger with lithium. According to the manual, it starts at 15.2V which is too high. Is the selector on A, B or C?

CB 516 charger, just this minute found charger!
Okay so I had a quick look at the manual, I would run it on the lead setting which should give you 14.1v absorbtion for 90 minutes before dropping to 13.5v float, it won't start charging again until the battery drops to 13v, this may take some time, remember this charger is not designed for lithium and lithium batteries have a pretty stable voltage until almost flat. Personally I would invest in a Victron ip22 wired directly to the battery, it's designed for lithium and works really well with my 230ah Fogstar drift.

But, why has it got a Lithium setting which it's set too ?

The manual I found does not show a lithium setting for that charger, does it have any extra letters other then CB516? The CB522 is the lithium charger I think.

I have a look tomorrow, but it has 3 charging positions A B and C , the Chausson book says got Lithium switch to B position and that's what it is on.

Okay, I found a CB516-3 which has A,B and C positions but these are for Lead, Gel and AGM, maybe it's a special for Chausson.
