I have a DALY Smart BMS LiFePo4 4S 12V 200amp and was wanting to use it on my next lithium cell project. I am thinking of buying 8

3.2V Lifepo4 Battery 300Ah Lifepo4 Cells so that i can make a 600Ah battery. The last one i set up was a 300Ah with 4 cells. I am mainly not sure if i need to get a larger BMS. hope someone can give me some advice.

I would have thought Presumably your current BMS only caters for 4 cells in series ? So won't be able to balance 8 so you will need another BMS (preferably identical and then parallel 2 x 12 volt batteries,or an 4 S 2 p 12v of the desired current.
Maybe someone with more knowledge than me can confirm wether I'm right or wrong

hi,
i was hoping to pair the cells up with bus bars, so that i can use the 4s on the 4 pairs. not sure about the balancing though.

It should be okay if done like this

If you parallel pairs of cells, then series 4 of these pairs it will "work" but although it will balance ok, it will fail badly when one cell in the pair goes bad.
There are risks involved with doing it this way and my personal view is that it shouldn't be done. If you do it, please ensure each and every cell has a fuseable link.

It would be much better to get another matching BMS and do as oldiesontour suggested. BMS's are not that expensive these days...

Some great prices on Ali express and 5/7 day delivery( and no import duty now)
Thanks Gromett for the confirmation... something I may do in future if the 320ah I'm building proves insufficient with my 620 w solar
