Our Avtex TV doesn't have built in bluetooth so we're looking for a reasonable quality bluetooth transmitter which will pair our TV and earbuds to allow one person to watch TV in silence.

I've heard some suffer from lag/delay which is obviously no good for TV.

Anyone tried this set up or have recommendations? Thanks.

You can if you watch via firestick join the buds to the firestick easily enough. (and it has lag compensation on a stick to void the delay issue).

Many live stations available on the stick now, we rarely turn the aerial on.

Thanks, didn't know you could do that, so will check it out. But actually also want to be able to watch DVDs in remote poor signal areas.

I use a cheapo bluetooth transmitter from amazon, but bear in mind as you say these don't have lag compensation. If you can get one that uses the APTX low latency I think it is codec, it minimises lag but your headset has to also support this, and most cheap headsets don't support this. (and both the transmitter AND receiver must support it to make lag non-existent). If you search for transmitters supporting aptx low latency you should get the best chance of no-lag.

Ref; joining the buds to a firestick it's under additional equipment/bluetooth or similar I think, moves a lot. But now I've joined my headset to mine, I just have to go to the reconnect item under bluetooth to rejoin it. It's not the easiest part of the firestick interface to find, but it's there.

We've yet to find a site we can't stream netflix at (we have an inbuilt dvd player too) but as so far we havn't failed, we usually use netflix for the larger selection. (we do use a roof antenna based solution though). We put the roof antenna on because phones failed to work in North Norfolk quite a lot.
