Bird box camera

I've always wanted one of these but couldn't work out the best way to run the wires from the bottom of the garden to the TV in the living room?!

How did you do it??

Ours is wireless free. I set it up myself and I am not at a techie.

Ahhh, even better!!

How long to the batteries last? Do you need to open the bird box to change the batteries?

Do you need a receiver or something to plug in to the TV end of things?

Sorry for all the questions :)

We bought ours from Aldi a few years ago, it's not wireless but it came with thirty metres of cable.

We have a bird box camera that is wireless as far as the signal is concerned but does need power for the camera. I ran an armoured cable from the garage, up the side of the garden, to a box in an arbour. The low voltage feed than goes to the nest box.
With a small antenna in the house we can see what is going on in the nest box and as my neighbour has the same type of box we can both monitor each nest box.
One of my mates was most amused when I told him that i could see my neighbours tits via TV. :D:D

Richard.

You should be so lucky. We’ve had a bird box for seven bloody years. A wren built a nest in it once, but it was not actually used. Other than that, nothing, what am I doing wrong ?

It plugs into the mains and has a transmitter from near the camera which transmits to a receiver close to the TV.

We had a wired box which never got used. We put our new one up in January, about 12 foot high facing east and they like it.

How long do the batteries last on the transmitter @Foxy1956 ?
The transmitter and receiver are both plugged in to the mains. The transmitter from the garage supply and the receiver next to the TV.

Garden Nature are one of, if not the, biggest suppliers of camera nest box's.
My neighbour and I both bought our boxes from them about 10-11 years ago and they are still going strong. At that time they were a very small outfit operating from a small lock-up unit in Ipswich.
Now they are a much bigger company and are very well regarded, supplying boxes for BBC Springwatch and the RSPB.
Have a look at their website:- https://gardenature.co.uk

Ahhhhh, so it's not wiresless then :(

I've got one of these wildlife cams, catches all the hedgehogs coming and going - batteries last over a month too (y)

Amazon product ASIN B00V9HPAB2
Too big to put in a bird box though :(
There are no wires connecting the transmitter to the receiver. As far as I am aware the signal is transmitted wirelessly. I am no expert, but I understand that to be wireless?
