Bip & Go or Bip & Drive

Starling. I set up Bip n Go with them and I use them exclusively when in the EU. Others use Revolut.
You can choose which countries you want when ordering Bip n Go.
I have France Spain Portugal and Italy. 1 Euro 70 per month when used.
Worked in all 4 countries.

Anyone have a problem with this in terms of UK banking? I have a Nationwide account, and while they do SEPA payments, they won't do a direct debit, which is what I need to set up for Mango. Anyone got a bank that does?
No problem with Nat-West.

Does anyone know for sure what category motorhomes fall into? Mine is under 3 metres height but gross vehicle weight is 3850 kgs. Some definitions say that motorhomes are classed by height, but other definitions mention that vehicles over 3500 gvw are class 3. So, class 2 or 3 is the question.
I have just applied for the Mango tag but there were no questions about class on the application. Perhaps they decide upon details held by DVLA?
Doubt they use DVLA databas…..but not sure. In France most of the Telepeage Lanes have some with 2m height barriers and these will be charged at Classe 1. You obviously can not use these lanes. Using other lanes, I have been told that height is checked automatically to determine if over 3 meters. If you are between 2 - 3 meters and under 3,500 Kg you are Classe 2. If over 3m and/or over 3,500 Kg you are in Classe 3 for charging purposes. If you are between 2 and 3 meters in height, I have no idea how they know if you are over 3,500 Kg. Details of Classes are on the Mango website, albeit in French it is easy to understand with Google Translate. Details at https://voyage.aprr.fr/classes-vehicule

They don’t we use our Emovis and have never paid more than class 2 even when towing a trailer😊👍

Thanks for replies. In case anyone has the same problem, I also have an account at Wise (was Transferwise) in Euros among other currencies, so I can tfr a sum into it when the rates are good. It's easy to set up a direct debit on that, and as I can control how much is in the account, I won't lose too much if there's a bad payment.

2.40 a month if used in Italy. I have just signed up with Bip and go with a Starling euro account. They just wanted the ISBN number.

As I mentioned on an similar thread a few days ago…….

Recently cancelled Sanef/Bip & Drive (using two tags….. one for France, one for Spain/Portugal). After some research, I have moved to “Mango” which uses a single tag covering France, Spain, Portugal and Italy. There is no annual fee and only a small monthly fee for any month when used. Presently there is an offer with no upfront costs. Details at …… https://www.mango-mobilitesbyaprr.com/en/offres
How/with which bank did you set up payment form MAngo?
Slimpay offers option of "IBAN", I don't have number or using more usual SortCode & Account but it will not accept either of the bank account I have that do not charge a fee for payment in "foreign" currency. Not tried "main stream" account as I will be changed a fee & % every time, that would make it "expensive".

Trying to purchase 'Mango' tag --- No where to register UK address -- every other Country but UK
Can I assume I cannot purchase from UK
Will have a go at purchasing 'Bip & Go' --- hope don't have same issues
Looked at Emovis, seems so expensive compared to sister companies ...'Bip & Go - Bip & Drive' :cautious:

You should be able to find your IBAN number for your account. I have 2 current accounts and on both I am able to find the IBAN number.

Absolutely no problem with UK address. My Telepeage dongle arrived within 48 hours, with no postal or set-up charge using the current promotional offer. Remember this is a French company. Using the drop down list for country when entering your address details, select “Grande Bretagne”, which is what the French postal service will expect on the destination address.

That's because for some reason a couple of the sections have us down as Grand Bretagne! Have another look.....

Grande Bretagne for address as it being posted from France and they are really fussy about using "French".

Having done some general reading on the topic and included on Monzo website you can generate your accounts IBAN number using website: https://www.iban.com/calculate-iban
FYI Monzo NOT on Swift or SEPA.
Think I'll set up a Starling account as well though as a back up as we're planning to spend a lot more time in Europe.

Mine is on its way. Looks very smart company and pretty clear with info. I may have used Grande Bretagne but it is possible, keep looking and scrollin. Only problem I have now is because my van is over 3 meters it is classed a Class 3 vehicle which the Mango tag and probably the others do not cover.
