Morning Fellow Bikers
I would be grateful for any info with switchable sat navs, last summer I sold my 1290gt super-duke down to an imminent hip replacement. That was done mid Jan and now feeling more confident have just bought a GSXF 1000 to polish in the garage. Previously I used a Zumo on the bike and the moho but I let that go with the bike.
We have been waiting for our new moho to be delivered since last september (on a Fiat base )but I now need a new sat nav as I like to do preplanned routes so am wondering if I bought Garmin or Tom Tom motorcycle unit could the camper maps be added so I could be used in both vehicles.
Thanks

Im not technical enough to answer that but I’ve had a few problems with my Garmin 785 camper, enough so that I daren’t upload routes or even update it via Garmin express, but it has all the dimensions of the van and a lot of good camper things on it.
So I run a 13 yr old Garmin zumo 660 MC satnav alongside which I can upload routes and update it via a computer, so can follow the 660 for a route and follow the camper for the guidance regarding size and stopover points.👍

We had a Garmin camper and used many times in France, took us down some very strange routes unsuitable for a motorhome (checked settings and they were correct). Stopped using that and just use a standard TomTom dash mounted cheapie, works perfectly well, and if it tries to send you down a road that doesnt look right just ignore it and it sorts itself out and finds a main road route.

Too late now, but you should have kept your Zumo, I use my 660 in the Moho as well as my Garmin Camper.

I prefer the way the Zumo doesn't automatically recalculate when going off my preplanned route... a serious flaw in the Camper satnavs... Other than that the Camper satnavs are OK.

like most others I also have separate sat nav's. The bike specific one for the bike (Navigator 6 on the BMW) and a camper 780 for the motorhome where the dimensions can be added.

They seem to select different routes based on their intended use too. Twisty's for the bike (y)(y)(y)

Why not just use your phone to navigate? I have a phone mount on the bike that has a wireless charger in it, google maps is free and I believe you can import routes or waze is also free, in the van i use an android tablet with co pilot caravan, once it's set up correctly for your vehicle it works well and hasn't taken me anywhere I shouldn't be, it has regular updates of both maps and software and still works fine on my seven year old Samsung Tab 2.

As above, I use the Garmin Camper, which I don't entirely trust and a Garmin XT M/C satnav. Either are also suitable to be used with the Garmin wireless rear view camera.
