Hi folks, there have been other conversations about bike covers, but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with similar needs to mine? Our Trek Excaliber 8 MTB have 79cm wide handle bars and 29inch wheels. I don't want to go made to measure at this stage as I probably won't be able to get them in time. Was thinking about Hindernann's City cover, but I spoke to the VanComfort chap and he thought their more expensive Basic model would be better. It sounds as if it is shaped like the Fiamma, which we got a loan of from friends to try and which didn't fit very well as it is not particularly gusseted for the handle bars.

Wondered if the Hindermann Basic Zwoo would work better on the barn doors of our van? Any comments?

Has anyone else got ordinary MTBs covered?
Thanks

try these guys, made me a superb heavy duty waterproof cover for our 2 electric bikes a few years ago for £45, I appreciate they may be more now as everything has gone up

Bought two of these for our bikes.

Mine has wide handlebars and 26" wheels and it fits under the cover just fine. I even used it to cover our two bikes while fitted to the trailer top cycle rack. Stayed on just fine on trips to Eindhoven and Llanberis.

I looked at quite a few. All seem to have same problem. I just turn handlebars sideways.

If you struggle, you can get a motorcycle waterproof cover and tie down as required….always turn the handlebars as quoted.

I straighten the handlebars by loosening the 2 screws on the bar. Bikes loaded opposite each other and my cover fits. I do have wide handlebars.

My enduro bike has 78cm bars. I've never tried to get a cover on it. Seemed a little pointless when it gets far dirtier on the trails than I could cause from a bit of road grime and rain.

My last van had a Fiamma rack, and the bike was too long for the rail, it'd be hanging off both ends. I got a longer and wider XL rail for it, which I think I still have in the garage (PM me if interested). The Thule rack on the new van just about copes.

We have 2 wide handled Cube E-bikes and use the large bags4everything E bike cover, fits well and seems to quite waterproof.

I bought a Beeway cover from Amazon, £10 as a very short term solution. It is still serviceable after 6 years! Covers my electric bike with the handle bars turned round.
