Big Fake Festival - East Midlands

Anyone been to this, this year?

if so I would welcome your comments. I am considering booking for next year

We've done wannasee @ penrith for last 5 years except covid year but the camping organisation has become shambolic (bands have been great though).

We are trying out Big Fake Festival for a change in 2024 so would also be interested to hear funsters comments on the festival.

You could also consider Glastonbudget and Tribfest.

Try the Sunshine Festival at Upton on Seven August bank holiday weekend 4 nights or 3 night tickets always a good weekend we been going for years .🕺🏻💃🍻🥂

We go to loads of festivals and Sunshine festival shocked us with the amount of drugs being openly sold and used. Went once, never again.

What sort of festival are you looking for ?
3-4 days off grid with a mix of music from different decades. We've always enjoyed the tribute bands at wannasee penrith but the camping side has become dire due to lack of organisation. First two years we went were fine - organised and civilised but the last two were not. The Big Fake Festival seems to tick all boxes but will have a look at the others mentioned. (y)

Festivals we enjoy are;

Upton blues festival. Probably the best and friendliest festival we go to.

Any by "Rockers Reunited", they have a website.

Cambridge Rock.

Northern Kin (depending on the line up)

Stonedead, but probably sold out by now for motorhomes.

Ha ha, we've had exactly the same experience with wannasee Penrith so are looking at the fake festival, although we'll be missing it next year due to the daughters wedding

Oh thank you, that's great. Will check them out.

Many people we spoke to at wannasee penrith were of the same opinion too. We've heard wanasee saying 'we've learnt and we will put it right next time' too many times now its time for a change for us. Shame because we enjoy the show but big fake fest sounds similar.

We found the camping at Sunshine Festival shambolic this year. Once your tickets had been inspected it was a mad dash to find a pitch , and we arrived on the Thursday, with people taping off areas to reserve for friends arriving the next day.

On the Friday new arrivals just seemed to be abandoning motorhomes / campers anywhere.

Music was good though. Weather not so.

Despite the above looking forward to next year.

Sounds very much like our wannasee experience for the last two years. Rain and mud we can handle after all we were in the lake district but it seems wet weather came as a surprise to the organisers
