Beware of cheap fuses!

since 2011, LDV Maxus camper, Elnagh Marlin, Rollerteam T590, Swift Escape C205.
Avoid these switched fuses as well. They should be banned!

The problems with those cheap switched fuses are:

1. They are poor quality.
2. The cable is held by small grub screws which means you don’t get good contact between the cable and the switch. This can lead to high resistance and overheating.
3. The fuses don’t blow at the current they are supposedly rated for.
4. They are not CE marked.

I bought one and sent it straight back to Amazon when I realised it was so potentially dangerous. I complained to Amazon but they are still selling them.

The ones at 12V Planet are expensive for a reason.
 
Was looking for something in the shed today, can't remember what, and found a bag containing fuses .
Not sure when I got them, but bag had SARGENT label . So they should be OK if I need one??
