Thinking of giving the gray tank a good clean, it has a large bung 6 maybe 8 ins .
Any ideas please ,thinking angle pressure washer and all in one suite:giggle:
Anyone done a deep clean,or shall we just use pegs on nose

Dishwasher tablets do a good job on grey tanks. I would dissolve in hot water in the sink (maybe 2 or 3 tablets) and then let it drain into tank so you get sink plug hole and pipe cleaned too. Drive around for a bit to shake up, leave overnight, drive around and drain.

We just use grey tank cleaner once a year properly and occasionally put some down the drains during the year. When we clean the fresh water tank with puriclean we always empty some of that through all taps and into waste tank.

On my Hymer, I looked and grey tank was all greasy inside, so I put about 3 inches of hot water in it, some dishwasher tablets, took for a drive, Then when back home I have a big round brush got as far in tank as possible and gave it a good brushing, then drained it.
Not perfect, but whom ever had the van before us obviously had never cleaned it out.

Thanks for replying all, can't get into top of tank with brush .
Will give dish tabs a go ,unless better idea is posted

Dishwasher tablet for me too. They worked very well in France/Spain in July last year when it was very hot, I got the cheapest ones from Aldi and dissolve 1 in the sink after every empty and drive around with about 20 litres in, I've not had any problems so far.
At the end of the season I give both the fresh and grey tanks a thorough clean with Thetford tank cleaners.

Citric acid into the fresh tank, use it to clean and descale, then through the taps and into the kettle, coffee machine and fill grey tank to do the same. Leave for 24 hours in both tanks, so 48 in total and drain, having rinsed out the fresh tank once empty. It can actually stay in the grey tank as long as you like. It’s the only time my grey waste gauge works until mucked up again.

I do occasionally drop tank cleaner down eat plugole and somethimes the thin cheep bleach, the large one in the yellow bottles and about 30p a go.

Bio washing powder/liquid fill the tank and leave it to soak overnight, jobs a good un(y)

A litre of white vinegar, 50/50 with hot water down the plug holes (so it does those tubes as well). Drive around for a while (we do this on the last run to our parkup) then use a grey-water dump to run out. Run a bit more water next if you’re worried about the vinegar smell ( but it really doesn’t smell). Dishwasher tablets next best thing, but they are slightly more expensive

Dishwasher tablets as suggested above, or if really grotty get some dishwasher cleaner and use that with a bucketful of hot water.

^^^^^This one.Won't hurt to give the van a run around for a while as well whilst the mix is in the grey tank. Use your ramps to tip the van towards the outlet point when emptying, makes sure the tanks as empty as possible of the dirty mix.

That's the way to do it!!
As a famous puppet once said 😂

Another vote for Puriclean. Twice a year with Puriclean in the fresh tank for 24 hours and a drive. Then drain though the kitchen and wash room sinks and another 24 hours and a drive in the grey tank before flushing though with fresh.

Arrived onsite on Wednesday, SWMBO asked me where the tank cleaner was but some fool had forgotten to pack it. Never mind, I’ve read that dishwasher tablets are good for cleaning the grey waste. Cheap tablets bought, one dissolved and put down the waste along with enough water to have grey tank at 50% for two hour drive home. Alarm sounds, waste tank full ! Next day, empty grey waste, indicator still at 100%, not looking good. Put the proper Thetford cleaner that I had forgotten down the wastes with 50 litres of water and went for another drive. Left overnight then drained …. Indicator still at 100% and SWMBO questioning whether I knew what I was doing ! Latest is that filled the grey waste completely with fresh water, then drained that and indicator now at zero.

Somehow I don’t think we will be using dishwasher tablets again although we both agree it is probably just coincidence !

Empty waste tank in normal way.
2. Ensuring wheels are secure go under your MHome where the waste tank is and you will find a large black screw cap, unscrew but be aware that residue waste might drip on you. This should empty everything but I put my hand in and scraped out the rest.
3. Get some soap and water/ sponge bit like washing up sponge and give the sensore a good clean. If you get a torch in there they should be purple in colour.
4. Prior to this purchase, i bought from Amazon:

Pro-Kleen Intense Waste Pipe and Tank Cleaner For Caravans and Motorhomes 5L - Deeply Cleans, Freshens, Shower & Sink Drain Pipes, Toilet Cassettes, Eliminates Unpleasant Odours

5.Follow instructions on container.
6. 24hrs + later give a good rinse out of waste tank and hopefully your sensors will respond more effectively.
Mine have and the readings are more in keeping with what you would expect. Good luck.

This works for me and sensors more responsive.
