Thinking of giving the gray tank a good clean, it has a large bung 6 maybe 8 ins .
Any ideas please ,thinking angle pressure washer and all in one suite
Anyone done a deep clean,or shall we just use pegs on nose
Dishwasher tablets do a good job on grey tanks. I would dissolve in hot water in the sink (maybe 2 or 3 tablets) and then let it drain into tank so you get sink plug hole and pipe cleaned too. Drive around for a bit to shake up, leave overnight, drive around and drain.
We just use grey tank cleaner once a year properly and occasionally put some down the drains during the year. When we clean the fresh water tank with puriclean we always empty some of that through all taps and into waste tank.
On my Hymer, I looked and grey tank was all greasy inside, so I put about 3 inches of hot water in it, some dishwasher tablets, took for a drive, Then when back home I have a big round brush got as far in tank as possible and gave it a good brushing, then drained it.
Not perfect, but whom ever had the van before us obviously had never cleaned it out.
Dishwasher tablet for me too. They worked very well in France/Spain in July last year when it was very hot, I got the cheapest ones from Aldi and dissolve 1 in the sink after every empty and drive around with about 20 litres in, I've not had any problems so far.
At the end of the season I give both the fresh and grey tanks a thorough clean with Thetford tank cleaners.
